Green marble in the bathroom

Grön marmor i badrum

Pernille Lind Studio is known for rooms where natural materials take centre stage. In this seaside villa, green marble carries the whole bathroom – a material that brings both calm and weight.

Green marble has a veining and depth that make every surface unique. The earthy tones form a calm base, and the stone only grows more beautiful over the years. Lind lets the marble meet other natural materials and green shades on the walls, so the room feels coherent without becoming one-note.

If you want to create something similar, Kolmården marble is a natural choice. This forest-green Swedish marble has been used since the Middle Ages, is hard-wearing and comes both honed and diamond-milled. Honed gives a smooth surface where the veining shows clearly, diamond-milled a rawer, grey-green tone.

Pair it with brass, oak or a plastered wall for a warmer look. In the shower the stone needs the right fall towards the drain and a sealing system for wet rooms – read more in Marble in the bathroom and toilet and in our care guide.
